Elaine Hutchison Named Top Rental Housing Executive
Elaine Hutchison, principal of Paragon Equities in Long Beach, received the Industry Award of Excellence at the 14th Annual Rental Housing Tribute Event at the Long Beach Convention Center.
Sponsored by the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities, the awards competition is the only one of its kind in Los Angeles County for the rental industry and it salutes the premier housing providers. The Industry Award of Excellence is the top award given annually to the individual who has contributed the most to improving rental housing.
Elaine has served as President of the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities; President of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce; and President of the California Apartment Association. She runs Paragon Equities, a property management company, which also handles real estate activity.
Elaine has been very involved with the political and education activities of the Association, including serving as President of the Income Property Owners Political Action Committee (IPPAC) and President of the American Housing Foundation.
The other major award of the Association was received by Assemblymember Van Tran, the first Vietnamese-American elected to any State House in the United States. Van Tran was named Legislator of the Year by the Association specifically for his support of housing-related issues. Assemblymember Van Tran represents District 68 which covers western Orange County cities.

The awards breakfast was held in conjunction with the Association’s 41st Annual Trade Show held at the Long Beach Convention Center. The Apartment Association, California Southern Cities is a nonprofit trade association that represents owners and operators of the rental housing industry.
