Join the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities, in its search for excellence in the rental housing industry. Tribute will be given to the most outstanding owners/managers, supervisors, leasing agents, maintenance personnel, rental communities, vendors, and industry leaders at the 13th Annual Industry Awards Luncheon on September 25, 2008 aboard the Queen Mary. All potential award candidates must be nominated in writing by the supervisor or owner/operator by August 29th.

• A company may not nominate more than five (5) candidates in each category.
• A person may be nominated in more than one category, but cannot win in more than one category.
• Winners and nominees from previous years are eligible to be nominated again.
• There is no entry fee, but all nominees are requested to attend the Awards Luncheon in the Queen’s Salon.

Judging by a panel of industry experts will be based on performance, professionalism, customer service, property knowledge, continuing education and letters of recommendation/ recognition.

This event will be held in conjunction with California’s largest annual rental housing expo presented by the Apartment Association, California Southern Cities at the Queen Mary Dome. The Awards Breakfast kicks off the 85th Anniversary Year of
AACSC.

The 2008 Categories

REPOSITIONED PROPERTY OF THE YEAR

This special recognition will be awarded to a property formerly drug- and/or crime ridden that has been converted into a model community. This most improved property may be nominated by an owner, manager, supervisor, law enforcement or community service agency. Judging will be based on a binder presentation including before and after photos, property analysis and testimonial letters. On-site evaluation may be conducted by the judging team.

BENJAMIN SLATER EDUCATION AWARD

This special award is given annually to the individual who has contributed the most to education in the industry, either by supporting education, participating in the overall program or recognizing the need for education in the industry. Previous winners have included industry professionals and elected civic leaders. Please submit nominations in a written essayform, citing specific accomplishments and noting years/credentials in the industry, if applicable.

INDUSTRY AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

This special award will recognize the industry leader for 2007-2008. Candidates must have a minimum of five years experience in the rental housing industry, must have played a leadership role and must have made a significant contribution to the industry.

INDUSTRY PARTNER OF THE YEAR

The Award will be given for the best ongoing service/product supplier.

Any employee or owner of a local or national supplier who is a member of AACSC is eligible. The individual must be nominated by a property owner member, a property management company member, or resident manager member of AACSC. Nominations must be a written response to the question: “Why I believe XYZ Company deserves special recognition as the Industry Partner of the Year.” Judging will be based on Testimonial Letters, Professionalism and Product and Service Knowledge.
