Energy Upgrade California™

Energy Upgrade California™ (EUC) in Los Angeles County offers multifamily properties various resources to support energy and green upgrades of existing multifamily properties including technical and financial assistance.

• Performance based program targeting whole building energy upgrades in multifamily projects
• Minimum of 5 units per building
• Rebates and Incentives from $6,500 to $110,000 are available for qualifying projects until funds run out, based on project size and improvements
• Construction must be completed by April 30, 2013
• Properties that pursue more comprehensive upgrades may qualify for a Green Building Labeling Pilot Incentive
  
  • Awarded for the GreenPoint Rated Multifamily or LEED label
  • Awarded as a 10 – 20% bonus over the energy efficiency improvement incentive

Benefits of Participation

Design and Technical Assistance – Provided at no cost to applicant up to $5,000 value:

Participants will receive free consultation with a green building expert to help establish upgrade goals for a multifamily building or portfolio. A consultant will provide customized technical assistance to meet the needs of individual projects with the intent of helping projects navigate to, and comply with, green and energy efficiency incentive and financing programs.
Services may include the following:

• Conducting initial consultation to evaluate which level of investment in upgrades will meet performance thresholds
• Identifying additional funding programs that will assist to meet goals
• Reviewing scope of work (plans and specifications) for energy upgrades and green building improvements
• Facilitating a green building team meeting
• Referring projects to Raters through qualified professional directory
