Dear Maintenance Men:
I’m a maintenance tech for a fifty unit apartment building and I do all the make readies. I take pride in my work and like the units to look great when I’m finished. The problem is with the fiberglass tubs and shower walls.
They are in great shape, but look dull and tired. No matter how hard I scrub them, they still look poor. Replacing them is not an option. Thanks for any help in bringing them back to life.
Jorge
Dear Jorge:
There is a product called “Gel-Gloss” that can be found at any hardware store. It is specifically designed to polish fiberglass and bring back the shine and glow. This product also works great on many other smooth surfaces such as Formica.
Just pour some Gel-Gloss on a rag and rub into the fiberglass as if you are polishing a car. The cleaner will remove minor stains and discoloration. Let it dry to a powdery residue and then buff with a soft cloth. The product will leave a glossy protective finish that will help repel water spots and stains.
